Speed and simplicity
If your mortgage details stay the same, you don’t need to do any affordability checks. And with a product transfer, because we’ve already assessed your property and financial circumstances, there’s no waiting around for solicitors or property valuations.
Cost
Whatever option you choose, at Godiva mortgages, we won’t charge legal, conveyancing or valuation fees with a product transfer. Remortgaging may involve fees, depending on the lender and the deal. These costs could add up.
Flexibility
While you may keep the same product, with a new rate, you have the flexibility to change your mortgage. This could include reducing your balance, borrowing more, changing the term or your repayment method.
How to apply
Choose for yourself and apply online
If you don’t plan on changing your mortgage term, you can apply for a product transfer online. You’ll get as good a rate online than if you phone us and you can do it any time, on any day of the week. Once you’ve secured your new deal, you can still change your mind up to one week before your current rate ends.
Switching online is 'Non-advised' as you won't speak to one of our advisors, when switching online you should be confident with your understanding of the product you're switching to.

If you’re not comfortable switching online, you want to change your mortgage term, repay some of your loan or borrow more, we have a team of mortgage experts on hand to talk you through your options. We can guide you through the process and help you secure your new rate. We’ll only share Godiva and Coventry Building Society mortgages and we’re unable to discuss products from other mortgage lenders.
Before you call us, take a look at our product range to give you an idea of which product you’d like to go with. Remember, even if you switch, you can still change your mind up to one week before your current deal ends.
The process takes around 45 minutes and there is no need to book an appointment.
Frequently asked questions
What information do I need to complete a product transfer?
To complete your transfer, you must have the following information to hand:
- Your first name and surname
- Property postcode (of the property you’re taking the new deal out on)
- Your 8-digit account number.
You’ll find all of this information on your latest mortgage statement. You don’t need to know your account balance – you’ll see this once you’ve logged in.
