Green additional borrowing
Benefit from a lower rate when you borrow more for energy efficiency improvements
You’re eligible if:
- you have a Buy to Let or a residential mortgage with us
- you’ve had your mortgage with us for at least six months and you’ve made six consecutive monthly mortgage payments
- you're not currently on an Offset product.
Here’s how it works:
- borrow up to £25,000
- spend at least 50% of the money you borrow carrying out energy efficiency improvements – we’ll need to see a quote for the work when you apply
- use the rest of the money for other home improvements (if relevant)
- at the end of your initial rate period, your product will either revert to our Standard Variable Rate (SVR), or you can switch to a new product from our core Product Transfer range available at that time.
What's included?

How do I apply?
Have a look at the work that’s eligible for the Green additional borrowing. We suggest getting at least three quotes before making any decisions. You can apply for the further advance by calling us on 0800 121 8899. We’ll need to see the quote or quotes you’ve obtained before we can agree your Green additional borrowing.
Quote must be on headed paper and include labour and materials.
